Early in August, a mother and daughter were killed in a Forsyth County car crash that took place on Old Atlanta Road near the Estates of Old Atlanta subdivision. According to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, two vehicles were involved.
Tracy Bieler, of Suwanee, was driving her car southbound on Old Atlanta Road when she apparently lost control of her vehicle while traveling through a curve. At that time, she went into another lane of traffic and collided with a 2012 Honda Odyssey.
Mujtaba Syed, 40, driver of the Honda, was traveling with a 7-year-old passenger at the time of the car crash. Both were taken to North Fulton Hospital for medical care, as Mujtaba suffered non-life-threatening injuries and the passenger sustained a broken arm.
Unfortunately, the situation was not the same inside Bieler’s vehicle. Bieler was traveling with two 11-year-old girls—her daughter and her daughter’s friend. Bieler was pronounced dead at the accident scene, and Caroline Addlesburger, her daughter, was critically injured and taken to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite for medical treatment. Sadly, Caroline Addlesburger died two days later of her injuries, and the other 11-year-old suffered non-life-threatening injuries to her face.
Crash investigators indicated that the rainy weather and wet conditions were contributing factors in the accident.
