Another group of doctors, known as insurance doctors, provides opinions at the command of defense attorneys. Their opinions generally are used to refute claims of injury and disability. Their conclusions generally contradict the actual treating physicians' diagnosis. The opinions of insurance doctors are just ways for the insurance company to refute the bills while they accrue. These bills are used in litigation to try to convince the jury that no one was injured and that no injuries took place. They try to prove that the treatments given were unnecessary and excessive.
